Using a 12V corded vacuum for normal cleaning (15-30 minutes) won't significantly drain a healthy car battery. However, don't run the vacuum for extended periods with the engine off. Some cars cut 12V power when the engine is off to prevent drain.

A minimum of 15 feet allows you to reach the entire interior of most sedans from the 12V outlet. For SUVs, trucks, or vans, look for 18-20 foot cords. Longer cords are always better since you can coil excess but can't add length.
